In these times of insecurity it’s important that you stay positive, healthy and happy.
We asked ourselves, what can we do to support ourselves, our immune system, preventively or when we have a virus in our body? Cause the positive news is, that we can.
We like to share some insights with you from doctor Hilde de Smet, who’s currently teaching people on how to strengthen their immune system during the Corona crisis.
For hundreds, thousands of years, our ancestors have used natural resources to protect ourselves from disease, strengthen our defenses, heal and heal ourselves. Why is there so little interest in this today? Nature has a lot to offer!
1. Empower food
These powerful home, garden and kitchen remedies boost up your immunity and fight infections:
Thyme, Sage, Oregano, Basil, East Indian Cherry;
Mushrooms (shiitake, reishi, maitake, coriolus versicolor, but also the common mushroom!);
Black berries, Elderflowers/berries.
Spice up that Vitamin-C! Rich fruits and vegetables (citrus fruits, cabbages, red and yellow peppers, chili peppers, fresh parsley, cress, kiwi, pineapple, chives …) – preferably processed and heated as little as possible. The longer stored in the refrigerator, the fewer vitamins in it.
2. Enjoy the sun
In this season, the UV index is so low that you can sunbathe without damage. Also adjust your lungs, belly…. exposed to sunlight, without sunscreen.
Sunlight stimulates vitamin D production, our melatonin production, but also restores the electromagnetic balance in our cells. People who cannot tolerate the sun usually have a shortage of good fatty acids.
Just take a few tablespoons of flaxseed, perilla-inca inchi oil per day (do not heat!) Or take a supplement of algae oil or spirulina. Nuts, seeds and seeds also provide good fatty acids.
3. Herbsand supplements
If you want to use them, go for quality. A specialized pharmacy or health food store can certainly help you with this). Immunity boosters:
Beta glucans (e.g. from mushrooms)
Vitamin C (preferably in a natural form such as from rose hips, acerola, camu camu, amla berries
Propolis (the natural glue that bees use)
Zinc (in a good absorbable form)
Selenium (or eat 5-10 Brazilian or para nuts every day)
Kombucha (buy kombucha with live bacteria
Essential oils evaporate in your home and bedroom: thyme (thymol), sage, oregano, basil, juniper, eucalyptus, tea tree …)
4. Hydrate Coffee, alcoholic drinks and black tea extract water from the body’s cells. Always drink water with it.
5. No sweat, just walk! Exercise sufficiently, walking is easy to do. It ultimately stimulates the lymphatic system and your immunity.
6 Positivity Research has shown that emotions such as gratitude and joy positively influence the immune system. Find reasons to be thankful, watch comedies, focus on what is going well!
Try to enjoy this mandatory rest. We have all focused for so many years on the outside world, on performance, on realizing ourselves towards others, seeking our fulfillment outside ourselves, that we have forgotten how good it can be with ourselves.
Wishing you lot’s of feel good vibes. #stayhome #takecare
